When I went to visit my brother last month, my sister-in-law gave me an exciting project to make some banners for the holidays to hang in her kitchen! I love banners and having things to make for other people makes me happy! So this is what I came up with for St. Patrick’s Day.

shoes I love!
in honor of pebbles.
When I was about nine or ten years old, I got my first pet for about $10.00. I was at sleep-away camp at the time and we went to a flea market. There was a man selling turtles out of a little swimming pool. When I got her, I named her Pebbles. I made this sign at camp and it’s been under her tank for the last 17 years. So this post is in honor of Pebs, who is no longer with us. She will certainly be missed! <3
it’s my birthday too!
a birthday’s a birthday…
no matter how small! Hello! Happy Read Across America Day! In case you don’t already know, Read Across America Day is a fun day at school where we get to celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday. I love spending the day reading Seuss books; especially The Lorax. And, it’s the only day of the year that I can wear a “Thing One/Thing Two” shirt! I just had to take a picture using my chalkboard speech bubble (soon to be available for sale)! Anyway, in honor of today, I decided to make some cake pops for my class (of 26 students).
My friend Diana, owner of Cake Popperie, does some amazing work with cake! Her cake pops are all hand decorated and are simply adorable! You almost feel guilty eating them! Well, she inspired me to make some of my own!! I didn’t really know what I was getting into when I decided to take on this project. They are a lot of work! Even though they didn’t come out perfectly, like Cake Popperie’s, my second graders didn’t seem to notice. I’m not sure if there will be a next time, but I certainly had fun learning how to make them! Here are some of Diana’s creations that she made for Christmas…I especially love the reindeer with the pretzel antlers!
